Its my first 10k race on sunday and its going to be warm. Ive only ever run in cooler weather. Thought it was bad when they said its going to be 19 degrees but now the weather man says 24 !!! The run isnt until 11.30 so going to be running midday. It will be a challenge for me anyway, but the heat might kill it for me π
Feeling really defeated before ive even run !!

Hi I feel the same way I have my first 10km race for 30 years in a couple of hours (I never thought I would feel this nervous and I haven't left the house yet!) I did C25k and most of my training plan wearing two shirts a waterproof and hat and gloves. I went for a jog on Thursday in my new Race outfit (T-shirt and shorts) and I was freezing. I drank a lot of water yesterday and ate half a water melon (seen it on the internet π) A cup of coffee and porridge now and a Lucozade sport to take with me. My race starts at ten which I hope means it wont have warmed up too much. I would say keep hydrated and take it easy today and Good luck for tomorrow π
Good luck !! Let me know how it goes π water melon ?? I will look that one up π im sure slow and steady is the way to go, but a nice run in the rain would be better lol xxxx
Race went really well. There was a bottle of water which went straight over my head at 6k. I think it will be even hotter tomorrow, I did notice that some of the runners were carrying a small bottle of water from the start which might be a good idea!
