A bit undecided on my route when I set out today. After a couple of 'fast' runs during the week my plan today was 'long and slow'. With a 10K event in a couple of weeks, which I know will be mostly run on tarmac, today I wanted a lot of hard road under my feet rather than the woodland path and grass that I prefer! The temperature today made it perfect running weather in my books and although I confess to feeling the effects of my last two runs in my legs๐Ÿ˜ฎ, I managed to settle into a steady and fairly easy pace. I also managed to throw in plenty of road work along with some muddy trails and the hill by the old railway cutting where I have fallen for a beautiful flock of sheep with their lambs๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘ so happy me! There was some local cycling event on today too, so the mountain bikers were out in force on the old railway line, looking decided mud splattered and smiley with it!๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ Stopped my Garmin (just over 13k) on return - all's well that ends well. I suspect I might feel this one later (although so far so good) but I am planning a two day break now before running again. ๐Ÿ™‚

A long one indeed! Nice! You'll be well prepared for your 10k.

Thank you - I'm trying to include a run like this every few weeks just to keep a bit of endurance there. I want to run the Great South Run again in October (10 miler) and another HM at 'some point'(!), if I can stay fit. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Thats a good run. You make me want to exceed 10k, which I intend to do soonish.

It is odd.. because I am doing this HM plan, which is very slow and structured.. the longer runs do not appear for a few weeks...I am already a bit twitchy!! :)

You need to run some more for me :) x

Really well done! Very good conditions today, sunny but a cooling breeze

You seem more than ready for your race ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š

Well, the plan is to try and do a 'long one' every few weeks so that I retain some endurance ready for when I want to build up for a longer event again. I have to admit though, I am not a fan of long summer runs so we shall see...! Conditions were perfect today though.๐Ÿ™‚
