So I'm running on the dreadmill because any outdoor running, however slow or short, aggravates my hip. Hoping to do 6k at a leisurely pace.
10 minutes or so before the end of the run, tissue in hand to wipe my sweaty face, I dropped my glasses onto the belt!!! Yikes. Managed not to stomp on them but nothing I could do to stop them reaching the end and coming back round again. Waiting for the crunch and crack of crushed, broken glass .... oh, hang on ... duh ... they simply dropped off the end of the belt of course
I could no longer read the numbers on the screen very well; 3, 5, 6 and 8 all looked much the same in the blur. Determined not to stop and not to run short, I ran an extra couple of minutes to be absolutely sure.
So 6k in the bag, intact gasses back on face and note to self to be more careful in future (but maybe set an end of run alarm just in case). Duh!

👀 🤓 Oh Lordy, what a thing to happen! Kudos to you for running on a dreadmill - I am far too clumsy and find it altogether discombobulating! Well done on your 6k! x
Very glad the glasses survived! I can’t see a thing without mine and the thought they might get crushed by a grinding treadmill makes me shudder with horror!
But 6k and a good workout - a great start to the day!
Ooops! Glad to hear the glasses survived. I don’t wear mine a) because I’d be forever pushing them back up my nose and b) I don’t have to recognise people when I’m out running.
However, can anyone recommend a thingy which can hold your glasses onto your head? I’m mainly thinking about my crow’s feet if summer ever arrives! 😂😎
I don't have any problem with mine slipping - I took them off and dropped them! When we go skiing I have some stretchy fabric tube thing that the arms of my glasses slide into and that keeps the glasses in place. Something like this mountainwarehouse.com/sungl...
