Best piriformis stretches?

Have upped my distance and speed in the last two weeks - and today have the most horrible piriformis pain ... I am usually super flexible and can touch toes easily, but can barely bend over to my knees due to pain in my butt and top of hamstring. I am sure this is quite a common ailment and wondered what you lovely folks out there could recommend please? I want to keep running of course but at the same time I don't want this to become a chronic problem.

There seems to be a plethora of Piriformis sufferers recently. Try this stretch. It's one of the best ones, my pilates instructor gave it to me.

thanks so much!! tried this unusual stretch using my husband's reflexology couch rather than the floor and O M G!!! what a difference! could touch my toes almost immediately .. it was like a miracle!

the physio also advises myofascial release - an amazing technique to get rid of the tightness and crap round the hips and butt!

I like the bench move probably better than the floor as I can get my legs in a better position. And sitting on a ball is one of my favourite things to do in the evening 😩😂

Check out Her Maj's link..but be careful... if it persists, get it checked out and avoid long runs..

Too fast too soon maybe You have to be stronger to get faster. Get stronger then run faster 💪🙂

But you’re paying the price. Ease back. Work on the strength 💪👍
