Had to have an eye injection last week.

I seemed to suddenly lose fine central vision in my right eye . Turns out to be a macula oedema caused by a blocked retinal vein. The blocked vein is "probably" caused by my long time high cholesterol levels. Problem is that standard initial treatment is 3 injections spaced one month apart - but because we are going overseas at the end of next week, it will be 10 weeks between my first and second injections. I have noticed an immediate improvement over the past week . Still running. Might get to do the Southampton parkrun inbetween cruises.

Blurgh!! Eye injection?!?! That's making me c-r-i-n-g-e! Poor you. Great you can see an improvement straight away though, the miracles of modern medicine. Can you run on your cruise ship? Never been on one, but I've heard people jog round them? Have a great hols.

I am "eye-phobic". I have always been a huge sook when it comes to my eyes. I can't even take eyedrops. But I HAD to do this - and it turned out to be something of a non-event!! :) Yes - you can jog slowly on cruiseships but it has to be at a time when other people are doing other things. - and they have enormous gyms!! :) Whenever we are travelling, we always have lunch at 11:30 AM/ Why?? - well because 11:30 is far too early for lunch, isn't it!!! At least that is what 99% of the population think :)

Thank God for that! I can't even poke up with the blowy eye puff thing in an eye test! :)

Blimey, I've barely had breakfast by then! I bet it will be wonderful though. Maybe you can get a few early morning jogettes in, when everyone else is sleeping off their all- inclusive quotas!

Urgh! I have to say I dont think I would be as stoic as you about that. Do you mean into your eyeball? Please say no 😳👀

Sorry to hear that Bazza - I think when it's a case of 'needs must' then we can be quite stoical. I had heard of this procedure as my mother had eye conditions. Enjoy your travels.🙂

Aaargh! I'm glad it turned out to be less of a horror than it sounds but still :O

Enjoy your cruise and fingers crossed for the Southampton Parkrun - mind those ankles though!
