Only managed a rubbish 3.5k this morning - nothing felt right and I ended up plodding along at a slow pace, puffing and wheezing.
But - there is a bright side - I wore my new Capri leggings. I was planning to wear them for my 10k race next week but oh no, certainly not going to now! They were comfortable-ish but I discovered that when running, the waistband dips and they sit low on my hips - which means my phone (on a waistband clip) also sat way too low, banged on the top of my thigh and irritated the heck out of me. I also chose the wrong playlist and didn’t have my usual early mug of tea half an hour before my run and I felt dehydrated and sluggish.
So for my race next week I now know exactly how I need to prepare in terms of hydration and music, and I know exactly which kit to wear.
RESULT! So a rubbish run turned out to have a silver lining!
Happy days!

Little things can mount up and irritate the heck out of one 🤨. Oh well good that it happened today and not on your race. Never wear new gear on runs, always road yesterday first 😃👍
