Purchased ASICS running shoes for starting c25k beginning of January and tonight I’ve had to bin them hole developing in both trainers outside of foot causing a blister in left foot. Is this how long they should last been running 3 times a week x

Running shoes knackered
They should last around 300-500 miles. The heel cushioning can reduce considerably before we think they are finished but wearing into holes on the outside seems odd.
Did you get gait analysis and buy the recommended type (i.e. under/over pronation or support)? If you did and still have the receipt I'd be tempted to take them back as it sounds like the recommendation was wrong or there is poor workmanship involved. If you purchased by yourself I'd chalk it down to experience and get gait analysis. I suppose it may be down to your running style and/or terrain, if so you need to find out and get the right shoes or it will cost you a fortune.
Thanks
The holes are developing in the inside of my trainers at the outside of my foot (small toe side) exact same place on both trainers. I haven’t had gait analysis done yet but can’t wear them now as blister with them tonight. I have one other pair of new balance running shoes i can use but I think I need to get gait analysis done. I don’t want an injury now they can’t be right for me x
Ah. Sounds like they might just be too small. Generally you need shoes 1 or even up to 2 sizes larger than your normal shoes to give your toes and feet room to spread and they need to be a bit wider than your normal shoe too. As with clothing these days, different makes of shoe seem to fit differently even when they say they are the same size. Some have larger toe boxes and that might be something you need. A good sports shop will be able to give you specific advice.
Best time of day to get gait anal is in the afternoon when your feet are warmer and slightly bigger. When you get it done I would suggest taking a pair of your usual running socks with you too especially if you use thicker socks as it gives a better idea of how everything fits.
Great advice. I got new shoes and when I got them home and tried them again in the early evening they just didn’t feel right. Went back for half size up and have been great. Afternoon and take your run socks is the way forward.
Also sounds to me like the shoes might be too narrow.
Ditto on the gait analysis. I've had my Asics for nearly a year, I have run 3 times a week (except for the snowy weather) and mine are fine, and very comfortable.
Sorry you're having problems but from my experience it probably isn't the shoes.
Hope you get sorted soon, blisters are no fun.
Good luck and happy running!
That doesn't sound good. I started c25k with my Fila trainers I played badminton in for several months before that. That was last October and they're still going strong. I recently bought some Nike downshifters to replace them, but still wear the Fila ones if I'm going off road.
