Sunny 7k Yay!

Woke up this morning to glorious sunshine (took a while before I remembered what it was πŸ˜‚) so no excuses to put off my first ever attempt at 7k.

I'm so fed up with pavement runs - but it's still so muddy when I head for the fields that I've been racking my brains to think of somewhere more inspiring but with decent paths. This week I thought of the local reservoir - the path around it is tarmac - so not great for the knees - but the surroundings are more pleasurable and I'm less likely to slip over or lose a shoe (both of which happened last time I went off road). And of course it's very flat (is this cheating?)

And it was amazing. I went off slowly and stayed that way and felt really comfortable and like I could run some more at the end.

Feel like I'm really getting somewhere (ironically while running in a circle πŸ˜‚) - a lovely start to the weekend!

Happy running 😊

Keep dreaming - they come true you know!

Back in August when I started C25K I'd never have believed I'd be 'a runner'! In fact in the beginning I found it difficult to believe that I'd ever finish the programme.

Was fa tactic to be running in the sun - looking forward to more Spring time running. 😊

Gorgeous blue sky. At last πŸ™‚ That photo makes you want to run there. Well done to you on a great sounding romp.

Blue skies certainly make a difference - it even crossed my mind I might need to invest in some shorts ...

What a beautiful photograph and a stunning location for a run. I am quite envious. I was running alongside the guided bus path in Luton this morning. Not the most scenic of routes, although there were the Dunstable Downs to one side for part of the run.

My go to route (especially after work in the winter) is the cycle land along the local bypass - very dull - so always try and plan to run somewhere lovely at the weekends but have been hampered by the continuous wet weather!

It was very lovely and very sunny this morning 😊

It was lovely - but also very flat. I do wonder how my legs are going to feel when I finally get back to the fields and woods!

Thanks. Will definitely run there again but hoping for more natural stuff underfoot in the not too distant future. Must invest in some trail shoes before next winter!

Well done for te 7k. Good pace too. I like the idea of running round the reservoir.

Looks lovely. Am feeling hopeful the mud might dry up over the next couple of weeks - about time. Like you I am struggling to find somewhere that isn't really tedious.

A great idea to find a different route and even better that it is flat when you're reaching for a new distance. Great job and great picture πŸ™‚
