Woke up this morning to glorious sunshine (took a while before I remembered what it was π) so no excuses to put off my first ever attempt at 7k.
I'm so fed up with pavement runs - but it's still so muddy when I head for the fields that I've been racking my brains to think of somewhere more inspiring but with decent paths. This week I thought of the local reservoir - the path around it is tarmac - so not great for the knees - but the surroundings are more pleasurable and I'm less likely to slip over or lose a shoe (both of which happened last time I went off road). And of course it's very flat (is this cheating?)
And it was amazing. I went off slowly and stayed that way and felt really comfortable and like I could run some more at the end.
Feel like I'm really getting somewhere (ironically while running in a circle π) - a lovely start to the weekend!
Happy running π

Back in August when I started C25K I'd never have believed I'd be 'a runner'! In fact in the beginning I found it difficult to believe that I'd ever finish the programme.
Was fa tactic to be running in the sun - looking forward to more Spring time running. π
What a beautiful photograph and a stunning location for a run. I am quite envious. I was running alongside the guided bus path in Luton this morning. Not the most scenic of routes, although there were the Dunstable Downs to one side for part of the run.
My go to route (especially after work in the winter) is the cycle land along the local bypass - very dull - so always try and plan to run somewhere lovely at the weekends but have been hampered by the continuous wet weather!
It was very lovely and very sunny this morning π
Thanks. Will definitely run there again but hoping for more natural stuff underfoot in the not too distant future. Must invest in some trail shoes before next winter!
Well done for te 7k. Good pace too. I like the idea of running round the reservoir.
Looks lovely. Am feeling hopeful the mud might dry up over the next couple of weeks - about time. Like you I am struggling to find somewhere that isn't really tedious.
