Onwards and upwards with the old gang

After two 5+ mile runs with the club this week, I was a little weary but got my backside in gear to go out for a small Jogette with my old c25k crew from work this evening. 12 months ago, almost to the day, our initial gang of 10 set out to run for the 1 minute intervals on our first jaunt! As the programme went on we were whittled down to 5, but we finished it in June and that was that for them. For me it was the start of a whole love affair with running.

Anyway, most of my workmates hadn’t put on a pair of trainers in 10 months+, but we did a slow jog/walk along the canal, and we did it. 30 minutes! So proud of my colleagues. They’ve started again, and won’t take long to get back up to 5k, aiming for a Race for Life near us in the summer!

You can always come back to running😊

Well done Katiepops, for being the one who continued running. But how brilliant that you’ve ignited a spark of interest for your colleagues again. The race for life is a great target to aim for.

Wonderful! Good for you for inspiring them. I bet they were impressed with your achievements this year. 🏃‍♀️👍

Brilliant. I’ve had a few small breaks from running. It’s hard coming back but your right. Anyone can put on a pair of runners and start again. Out of the initial 10 you are the only one who stuck with it. You should be very proud of yourself.
