Don’t be a fool be cool 😎 April Quest week 1. Come and join in πŸ’₯

Hi there and welcome to the new quest for April. As we see the days getting longer and the air start to get warmer I can’t think of a better time to set some new goals. So have a think about what you want to achieve this month, write it down here and go nail it πŸ’₯

What the Quest is:-

The Quest takes one month . You can join any time, within those weeks.

The main aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this, is that while you are doing the programme, your plan is very structured, so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.

Most popular goals are:-

To run three times a week

To slowly increase distance

To train for a specific race

To add In Stretch and Strength exercises

As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.

Every week I will pin a new post, where all the members of the Quest can talk about how things are going.

So if you wanted to join all you have to do is put;

I would like to join the Quest, or count me in, and then I would like to. ..............

Your name will then be added to the top post and every week your name will be in the Quest until the end.

At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep.

Happy Panthering

Will my bod look like one of the runners in your pic if I achieve my quest? 🀣🀣. I’d like it to be exactly like the one in the pink vest and shorts please!!

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Fionn42

Of course it will.... and good choice of outfit πŸ˜‰

Happy Easter Ju-ju πŸ₯

Please may I join your April Quest, I want to complete your 10 is the Magic number plan again, ready for a Virtual 10k on 4th May. I am starting at week 2 and have done my 5k and 3k runs...the 6k is planned for next week.

The program is on my fridge and those two runs are βœ” so ITS ON!😊

Happy running everyone on the Quest 😊xx

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Bluebirdrunner

Fantastic I am so please...... sounds like a great plan for April πŸ€›πŸ»

BluebirdrunnerGraduate10 in reply to ju-ju-

Did my 6k run today in the sunshine, can feel it in my legs this evening....😊x

I would like to join the quest please...trying to get back to the 10K mark where I was before the dreaded IC...:)

I do, of course, already look like the lady in the pink outfit... with shorter hair:)

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Oldfloss

Obvs.... and good plan 😎

Hi ju-ju - I'd like to join the quest and will be working on moving to running on alternate days (as opposed to 3x weekly which due to work sometimes slips down to twice) and slowly increasing the distance I can cover (6k has been my limit so far) - though think if I imagine I'm trying to escape the people in this picture this will be entirely possible πŸ˜‚

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to DebJogsOn

That sounds like a great plan....

After a few weeks off I want to join to get back to running three times a week even if they are short and sweet... I will get back to this even if it kills me x

Elfe560minGraduate in reply to Terimanning25

...we definitely would prefer it not to kill you...πŸ˜€

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Terimanning25

Good plan.... and no killing allowed here.... πŸ˜‰

Hi Juju and happy bank holiday Monday!

I think it's time for me to start your 10k plan again. It's 4Β°C and tipping it down with rain out there...but there's no time like the present, so off I go. β˜Ίβ˜”

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Sandyscroll

Great plan, and you too, 😎

Can I join please Ju-Ju?

I want to build on my March quest which was a run or walk every day. That one went well so for April I will run every other day, and walk on all non run days. I shall stick to my minimum of 2.5k daily but will expect to average more than that over the month.

It is part of my plan of continued rehabilitation from the IC, building those knees!

Happy running all!

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Millsie-J

Good plan, I like that idea.... 😎

Please may I join I would like to run at least 3 times a week and slowly try and increase my distance .

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Heartlesstroll

Yes of course, and great plan, realistic and doable 😎

Hi Ju, please can I join, although I won't be doing much until 10th April other than cheering from the couch!

Goals this month are:

- carry on with 5x50

- re-do Rig's skwaat programme

- start running again on 10th April (hooray!)

- bring home the Longhorn bling (s-l-o-w-l-y)

- investigate a Tai Chi class (interesting) and a ballet class for *ahem* older people

- possibly volunteer at Parkrun again because it was great fun :)

Happy running, everyone!

(And edited to ask, if I'm good, please can I have the bloke in the photo if no one else wants him? :D )

GoogleMeGraduate10 in reply to Anniemurph

Love those goals but you are welcome to Mr Denim Hotpants.

AnniemurphGraduate10 in reply to GoogleMe

Ha! But he looks so clean-cut and wholesome! :D

SandyscrollGraduate10 in reply to Anniemurph

Don't trust him. He's got 2 women running around with him already. πŸ˜‰

AnniemurphGraduate10 in reply to Sandyscroll

Good point! They look like they can run faster than I can :D

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Anniemurph

Great plan, loving the old people ballet πŸ˜‰ and I won’t fight you for mr hotpants, he’s not my type πŸ˜‰

Oooooh... I wanna be in but I don't really know which goals to choose...

Dare I say "cycle ride"? The access onto the White Peak Loop has finally been sorted.

13k run (which will be my longest to date)

And I really do want to get a grip and lose a couple of kilos as I have crept over that BMI line... and since I suspect the line itself is a little overgenerous to me anyway...

Under all that I'd like to keep up with what I did last month: the daily dog walk/run, 10 squats and food diary... and get another 5k along the Derwent on my virtual swim.

AnniemurphGraduate10 in reply to GoogleMe

A goodly selection of goals. Glad the cycle access has been sorted.

The daily run/walk, squats & food diary are all going well. It's looking good!

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to GoogleMe

Great goals, and don’t be too hard on yourself with the BMI. I’m right at the top of mine!!!

Those denim shorts... πŸ˜†

AnniemurphGraduate10 in reply to roseabi

California-style :D

Fionn42 in reply to Anniemurph

Way too tight!

AnniemurphGraduate10 in reply to Fionn42

Cutting off the circulation? :D

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to roseabi

Juju, I would like to join the Quest. I will commence stretching exercises given to me by a physical therapist and will do them every other day. I injured my knee some time ago and will try getting back to running as I was before winter.

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to LiisaM

That sounds like a good plan. Get yourself strong and you will come back stronger and better 😎

Please may I join? I will try to increase my distance from 10k to 15k by the end of the month. On an enforced break this week due to bursitis but hopefully will still have time!

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Sweatyfaced

I hope that sorts soon, and good plan

SweatyfacedGraduate10 in reply to ju-ju-

So do i; will tentatively step out tomorrow...

Count me in....I would like to run three times a week & build up to 7k

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Mummycav

Excellent plan 😎

I’ve signed up to a 10K at the end of May so April quest is x3 runs a week following your training plan

I'm in please Ju-Ju

I'm getting back on my feet, it's a bit up and down, but I've done a few runs and not keeled over, so I guess I'm doing ok!

I'll be running in Spain next week, then it's back to hilly France, where I shall probably begin with some walks, but hopefully I'll get a few runs in before the end of the quest.

AnniemurphGraduate10 in reply to Curlygurly2

Nice to see you back again :)

Curlygurly2Graduate10 in reply to Anniemurph

Thank you! Getting better every day xx

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Curlygurly2

Really super to see you back, I will add you 😎

Curlygurly2Graduate10 in reply to ju-ju-

Thank you getting better every day, taking it slowly, but I feel hopeful xx

Count me in please?

I just need to get back to running 3 times a week. Lurgies, the weather, new pup, and poorly pup have left me just not wanting to make the time to run.

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Maddee_6333

I will add you.... life happens and gets in the way. Your plan

Sounds very sensible 😎

I would like to join please. My quest is to get better at full body exercise not just running. So I have downloaded the "Seven" app mentioned in women's running this month. I am going to try and do a 7 min workout every day. I missed 1 April but have done 2, 3 and 4 so far :-)

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Langley-Loper

great plan, I will add you :)

I graduated from C25K today. My plan for the rest of April is to consolidate, with 30 minute runs, 3x per week for the rest of the month, trying out some C25K+ podcasts to mix things up a bit.

April 30th I'll start your 10 is the magic number, already printed and on the fridge with the plan ending on a 10k race day!

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to ToniCR

Fantastic, that all sounds like a great plan....

Please count me in, I run for 30 mins x3 weekly but have not yet achieved 5k without walking some of it. So my quest is to increase the distance/ time I can run nonstop for the magical

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to Not2old2

Good plan and realistic too

β€˜5k’ is what my last post should have finished with. Sorry

Please can I join? I have a target of running 25 miles in April to kick me into running more regularly. Currently up to 10 miles since April 1st? Thank you Ju-Ju

ju-ju-Administrator in reply to LittleNell83

That’s a good goal, and doable too.
