Hi there and welcome to the second week of the new quest for April. Apologies I am a little late in posting, my days got muddled... so how are you all doing with your goals?๐ฅ
What the Quest is:-
The Quest takes one month . You can join any time, within those weeks.
The main aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this, is that while you are doing the programme, your plan is very structured, so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To train for a specific race
To add In Stretch and Strength exercises
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.
Every week I will pin a new post, where all the members of the Quest can talk about how things are going.
So if you wanted to join all you have to do is put;
I would like to join the Quest, or count me in, and then I would like to. ..............
Your name will then be added to the top post and every week your name will be in the Quest until the end.
At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep.
Happy Panthering

Have managed to run on alternate days but still on Easter holidays so the real test of that will come next week. Am mixing up runs using mixture of C25k+ podcasts and more leisurely runs accompanied by radio podcasts. Hoping to run beyond 6.5k on Saturday (which will be my longest run yet if I pull it off). Am busy planning new routes inspired by Cornish holiday running but wish the rain would stop so I can plan more cross country outings!
Count me in. I'd like to build up to HM distance, I will be completing my first 10k race and I'm gonna try some new holiday running in Southwold(I haven't really ran anywhere other than home and park run)
I am sticking to my Quest, I have run every other day through April, on non run days I have walked. Absolute minimum of two miles per day but often more than that. I am a happy bunny!
On track with my consolidation runs. An easy pace 30 minutes tomorrow and I'm going to try for 5K on Saturday. I almost always do 5k every outing, but up until now I've walked the tail end to make the distance. Even all through C25K I walked however long I needed so that each outing totalled around 5 k, with a longer one on Saturdays. I began doing this for my dog so she'd get enough exercise, but I think I benefitted quite a lot from it.
This Quest my goals are all about getting some fitness back. I will pick up the running although not the gym yet, and keep trying with the Tai Chi and ballet classes
I have a 10k event this month for which I will have to do some mental preparation: I cannot run the whole thing. Aaargh. But it has to be done because I want that bling - it's the Longhorn so fab bling and a great day out.
Oh, and back to the skwaats, but gently in case my insides fall out
count me in...i have at last started your 10 is the Magic Number and I am on week 3 last run. My quest for the rest of the month and beyond is to run 3 times a week and stick to the plan, until I get to that magic 10!! Feeling determined this time.
It has only just dawned on me that a run round the car park would take care of the remaining 0.4... but no, I'll have to be very desperate to do that again. About as desperate as you'd have to be to run through a bog.
I'm still doing the "Seven" workout every day to supplement my running. Sometimes in pyjamas, sometimes in running gear, sometimes in work clothes. I've got a 2 week streak badge now! I think doing press ups on my knees is squashing my left knee cap into the squidgy stuff behind it so I'm going to move on to Big Girl Proper Press Ups from tomorrow, even if I only manage about four in the 30 second slot.
Count me in please. after reaching 10k 0n Tuesday, I would like to throttle back a bit and enjoy running for the pure pleasure of running for a while, but i don't want to lose momentum, so I would still like to aim for three or four runs a week, gently working towards the next goal, whatever it turns out to be. I'm feeling my way here.
