Running makes me happier!

Well what a day! Crazy at work trying to get everything done before Easter, late collecting my 6 year old daughter from school due to heavy traffic and then having to deal with my wayward teenage stepson upon getting home. The weather was foul and by this time so was my mood and a horrible tension headache had set in.

Despite this I put on my running gear and drove my daughter to her gymnastics class. I decided to bite the bullet and run for the duration of her lesson and within 1km of starting I realised my headache had gone and my spirits had lifted. By the time I'd finished my usual route I was feeling very happy :)

I feel great now and found myself singing in the shower just now! Yay for running! 😁

Bum, sorry to hear that, it would get me down too. Hang on in there, you're getting better and will be back out there before you know it! x

Great stuff. I always find a run sorts me out when I'm grumpy. It helps the family if I leave the house for half an hour or so too!

Excellent- hope you sang to your step son too! I so remember my son’s tricky teenage times-but they do come out the other side of it, my son is a lovely young man in his early twenties now. πŸ˜€

Hmm, I suppose I might have sounded like a heavy metal singer while dealing with him! Can't see the light at the end of the tunnel with him I'm afraid. ADHD amongst other things and he's the laziest kid I ever met 🀨

That’s really hard to deal with. I currently work with someone with severe ADHD amongst other issues - my word he is exhausting! I work very hard to hang onto β€œcalm voice, calm brain” & also constantly search for moments of humour to share & positives to praise however minuscule. I hope you have some good professional support.

Good for you man! Whatever gets you happy is worth hanging on to. Running is a gift I wish I would have gotten many years ago. Though I would not have appreciated it as much back then either. 😁

Likewise! I started in October just after my 49th birthday. Wish I'd taken it up much sooner. Oh well, I'm doing it now 😁

Good for you πŸ˜ƒ. The reverse happens when you can’t get out for a run though 😎

Oh, cripes. Moody teenagers with rolling eyeballs and flicking fringes get me every time, and that's without all the rest of your running around! Am I the only person wondering what you drew with your route on Strava?
