Reaching 5k again!

I finally managed a sunny, canal side 5k in 35.17mins yesterday. Was worried I'd lost my mojo and fitness over the winter with various dollops of snow interspersed with horrible sinus/head colds. I've been slowly doing short runs here and there to build back up to where I was - about week 3 of ju-ju's plan so not quite there yet but definitely nearer.

A new parkrun near me has started & I've been desperate to give it a go but couldn't face coming in near the back with over a hundred runners - they're a springy bunch of sprightly gazelles. I've missed doing parkruns and having my husband reporting back on how his went. I know I could walk bits but I think that wouldn't make me feel good so at least now I feel I can manage them again.

I'm spending Easter in lovely Cornwall near Fowey - any suggestions for some nice routes 5km ish and not too hilly?

Happy spring running to you all!

I'm so envious. You're near 5k in 30 minutes. I can only dream of being that fast. Hope you continue to rebuild your strength and distance. Well done, excellent.

Your not gonna be avoid to avoid hills in Fowey, it's practically on a cliff lol. Maybe run, round and round the high street bit and up to the chain ferry bit that won't get you far though.

I know, we've stayed there before & I couldn't find a sensible route to take! We used to live on the Devon/Cornwall border & I know some easier places to run round there (we always pop in on friends there). I've just seen that Lanhydrock has a parkrun which we won't be able to do sadly but I might check that out for a mid week run.
