You mean your "ham string", not your hand string? It could come from a lot of places, your quadriceps (stretch longer?), your psoas (this connects with the glutes and your back bone, so you need to stretch ; but usually you would feel some tension in your lower back), your hip flexors... But if it is on the internal side of your thigh, it could just be your adductor: stretch gently and be careful. If you're in pain, rest and massage.

Yes, I do get some mild soreness in this area after a hard run. Today for example.. this usually wears off for me after a day or so, but I make more effort to thoroughly stretch these areas after a run now which helps. I think mine is just using muscles etc that I am not used to using - i’m still growing my running legs 😀. Well done on you run - looks like you are progressing really well toward you 10k 👍
