Looked out the window this morning and guess what?, it's still snowing. No runs managed since last Sunday and going a bit stir crazy.

However it does look (slightly) warmer on Sunday so I have decided come hell or high water i am going to run then and do maybe 10k.

Bonus points to anyone who knows the film the title of this post comes from!!! 😁

Well done, a bottle of champagne is on its way!!!.

I will be sort of sensible 👍. Actually the roads are not to bad even now so by Sunday should be fine.

Yeayayayayay!!! I love my bubbly !

We have drifts and some bits completely clear as the strong winds are blowing the snow everywhere !

Well I had to cheat and look up the quote!

Haven’t managed a run since Sunday. We are into our fourth day of snow and gales. Went for a walk to the beach yesterday and was nearly blown over by the force of the wind. Daughter did the same and was almost blown into the path of a car! Several lampposts along the beach road were sheared off by the gales on Wednesday.

So no running at the mo, focusing on keeping the garden birds fed instead!

Our park run today has been cancelled as well due to the ice. Part of the route is along the promenade and there’s a flood warning as well for overtopping waves. Saw it for myself yesterday, definitely not safe.

I know the feeling Chris, what with the injury, the race in London tomorrow has been cancelled!.....that’s just adding insult to injury 😫

Come Hell or high water, I’m running at the weekend! 🏃🏃🏃😊

So, cancelled then Ted😐..

how is your injury doing painwise?

You made the distance already though so maybe its for the best.😊x

Hi Jan, injury is coming along nicely....a bit tender to touch but otherwise OK.

Race cancellation was probably a blessing but you know how it is, you get yourself all psyched up about it 🙄

There’ll be others 🤗

Same here Chris: being born under the sign of the Vole ( one of the lesser known ones) I am pretty risk averse and it simply isn't safe here. Just taking the dogs for their walk yesterday in our flat, open topography was adventure enough for me. My eyes are still sore from the snow being whipped into them...thinking about wearing goggles today. The upside was the number of birds I saw at close quarters as the poor beggars sought any kind of shelter.

I was saying to murph yesters that I had a swollen eyelid and I thought it was the blizzard blowing Debris in my eye while I was out with the dog,

Is it any better?

Yeah it’s gone down now but I dunno if i’m dropping to bits but my ear is driving me mad again and I had ruddy toothache. It’s all on one side so gotta be linked I had a hot water bottle on the side of my head last night. I could hear the ocean all night 🙄. Could be those icy blasts! Mind you I was well covered but it hits your face doesn’t it. Whinge whinge

I told my husband that I couldn’t put off my 18k any longer he suggested I was mad and I should run it on a treadmill. Do me a favour, says I 😁. He said I’d end up on my face again. I pointed out there was no snow when I landed on my face 😬. Bicker bicker. Anyway he had to be nice to me as he was borrowing my car again, as his flash job is crap on ice and snow (as predicted by me) He has given me some change to buy a drink at the end of the run, for my walk home ☕️

I don’t really want to go but I feel anxious about stacking up runs. I can head out and see what it’s like. If I don’t like it I can come back

Haha, you and me both! I’m determined to finish Ju-ju’s pre-Christmas 10 is the magic number this weekend, so 10k here I come.

As they say in the playground - ‘I will if you will’ so let’s go for it! Forecast is for rain and sleet tomorrow so am hoping these massive snow drifts will melt away by Sunday.

Having said that, it’s still snowing here and we’ve had that awful freezing rain so no running but my better half and I have been out delivering supplies from our community shop to the oldies in the village and outlying farms.

Fingers crossed for Sunday🤞

Roll on next week!!!

I think we are all going Stir Crazy!!!!

Squats, planks yoga & hiit are good accompaniments to running but I'm not finding them enough on their own!😟
