So who's going out today?

I have a head cold and a bugger of a sore throat, but as i'm working from home today. I'm just staring out of the window and across the fields and wondering if I should go for an extra snowy run. Anyone else feeling the need to get out in the cold?

Minus 17 here in Helsinki, so err...no! Went down in the parking garage (again) though.

Yes...but real-feel here is -14..heck of a wind on, four inches of snow and snowing now...so, catching up with marking stories for the BBC 500 Words competition :)

Maybe tomorrow ;)

Aw, have you had any beauties yet? I’m not judging for 500 words this year but I’m missing it. Ploughing through Year 11 assessments instead is nowhere near as entertaining!

A few!!!!

I despair in some ways... but it is real fun... I marked the winning one a couple of years ago, which weirdly, was about running and running shoes.. :)

Oh how lovely! I don’t remember that one but I wasn’t running back then so I don’t suppose it would have lodged in my memory.

I know what you mean about despairing. *Glances at Year 11 books*

I’ve been out with the dog for about 90 mins and it’s horribly cold and windy. I am due to run today but not turning out I don’t think It’s the cold wind that’s putting me off TBH. It’s whipping up the powdery snow. Shudder 🙄.

My saucony peregrines are good in it! 🙂

It’s the wind that’s putting me off too but running club is cancelled tonight so I’ll almost certainly get out there at some point, if only for a few miles rather than the 6 or 7 I would have done today

Yeah I don't mind the snow or the cold, but I do loathe a biting wind. Don't blame y'all.

I ran twice earlier in the spring-like days before our snow hits tonight, so no runs till Saturday. That should be a soggy one. Yeah, the cold is one thing but anything below -10 windchill is not fun to run in.

No. I'm still recovering from a sprained ankle and have just got back running after four weeks so I definitely don't want to tempt fate by slipping on some ice. Apparently the worst is to come at about 3pm this afternoon. So the ladies in Marks said. They're all being sent home 😧

I'm resigned to not getting out for at least a couple more days, possibly Sunday.

I am about to layer up for a walk.....three inches of snow out there and a biting wind......I may be gone a while!

I went out early for a quickie but it was very very cold and my bum went numb.

It’s my knees that I don’t like getting cold, well and my bum but my knees really protest if they get too cold xx

I was due to run yesterday. It was -4 when I got home from work and although I craved a run, I'm afraid it was the wind chill factor of - 12 that persuaded me to give it a miss! ..Such a wuss! ...Maybe today..if I wrap up warm.☺❄🌬

Nope. Cold and chest infection means I have to be a 'grown up' and be sensible. I went out and did an 8k trail run on Tuesday, mostly through blizzard conditions, after starting out in brilliant sunshine. Loved it but the sniffle I started with turned into a chomping on razor blades throat and temperature and now chest is wheezing like a good 'un.

I hate being a grown up :(

Me too. Fortunately I'm past the age of it happening very often 😄.(Which is kind of good news/bad news)

Just did one but the roads aren't icy yet so I could safely get away with it

Well pinkaardvark sorry to read your not well. Make sure you keep warm and plenty of hot toddies,🔥🥃🍯.

For me it was an necessity assupossed to a need. I had to go to work. Left at 0600 and it’s an hours journey. Got to work ok then about 830 text from hubby telling me to come home as the snow had hit. ❄️❄️☃️

Operating lists were being cancelled as weather was getting worse so I wasn’t the only one to leave.

Managed to eventually get home safely, taking my time driving on the roads. and now hours later we’re safe and warm tucked up at home. Hubby,me and two black labs.

Snow is still coming down and is set to get even worse on Friday. So I couldn’t have run even if I had wanted to.

I think the tread/dreadmill will be in order tomorrow

Keep safe and happy running 😀😀

yup did another 8k at Regents Park - lovely, but very chilly....
