Just a short post today. Set out this morning with the remnants of a stubborn cold and also, stupidly forgot to warm up enough. So, I ending up running about 2k and walking to make it up to 5k..
I was supposed to go for my first park run today but knew it wasn't the right time. Think I need to wait until I ve improved and consistently can do 30 minutes. My run /walk took me an hour!
Well done for getting out there especially if you are under the weather. A run is a run and so long as you don't make yourself more ill is better than no run at all. That said take care its been pretty cold in the mornings.
Just wait until January..the last two years..loads of us got bitten by the dreaded Bronchitosaurus!! Maybe we can out run him
Thanks all. I guess I m feeling a bit down at the moment, even when I do manage 30 minutes solid running, with a 5min brisk walk at each end, it's still taking me 47 mins to do 5k...I took a peek at my local park run results and nobody took that long!
I do understand, I really do, that it's all about achieving and not about speed or pace at the moment. But I will just keep doing my consolidation runs until I get a better pace.. It's the memories of me being last over the line back at school and I don't want history to repeat itself at my first ever park run!
