After reading chrisAllen's post I thought I'd look at garmin to see how far I'd gone and was surprised to see I'd done 65k in February, quite shocked at that considering how far I would travel before c25k.. probably 5k a month lol(in the car).
As I had some new shoes I dragged myself out into the cold for a test run, I had quite sore calves from my previous run so it wasn't the most enjoyable in the freezing cold. On the positive though the new cloudflyers felt fine and I didn't seem to mind the flatter heel drop(Achilles ok this morning).
Just did the 5k due to the tired calves and didn't want to push things on untested hoofs, so had a little walk break in the middle which was lovely and may feature more in my runs as I have found my pace has gone up a lot and I struggle to keep it down which means I end up running past my energy reserves or breathing level. Hope to get a longer run in them on Thursday.
Stay safe out there in the colds.

Gods run Pink, and an excellent time considering 🤗
I’m a bit behind you on the Feb log at 53.5K
I can relate to the short walk breaks.....I’m struggling to lower the pace so need the odd walk break purely to get my Heart Rate down.....it gets too high for my age at times 🙄
Cheers Ted. Yes my prior run turned into a bit of a sprint for me with splits around 5:45, totally unintentional as well. I think a healthy pace especially for longer runs for me now is around 6:30 - 6:15 maybe down to 6:00 for the 5k. But I find it hard to control the speeds and keep surprising myself, which is annoying as I know if I'm aiming long I don't want a fast start. Might need to investigate the garmin to see if their is some pacing functions I can use until I get some better control or get a bit stronger.
Yes lets see what we can all accomplish in March.. spring runs with moody sunsets, i'm looking forward to them.
No.. I have strava on my phone, but never used it. Did use endomondo for a bit but only have the garmin watch with me now and a tiny ipod nano for tunes. I believe you can connect the garmin account to strava but not sure why i'd want to lol
