Monday run after parkrun

After safely depositing the little people at school, things to do 🙄.... Hoovering errrr no that can wait until later. As the weather is looking iffy might as well throw the trainers on and stretch the legs.

Life without Michael, right music on, watch started and time for a run. I know I want to slow the pace down let's see and after my Saturday parkrun, maybe even incorporate the odd small beginner hill.

After briefly backtracking as my aqueduct was closed due to maintenance, I entered the countryside and the quiet of the lanes. Just me not a soul around. The beginner hill I knew I'd have to run up yaaaay I did 👍, must say it's easier on my bike though. Then down onto familiar territory the flat of the towpath. At times I missed Michael but could still hear that encouragement he'd offered during my c25k. Onward I plodded.

I thought as I dropped down the hill after leaving the canal, I don't like running down hills much, infact uphill is far nicer.

It's quite surreal running solo after the almost 300 strong crowd I was part of on Saturday.... But hey running is running.

And I've just plodded around a gentle 7.5k on a Monday in January.. I couldn't do that a year ago 🤗

wonderful, sounds just perfect...and looks it too, I love the towpaths, the wildlife, boats, water..perfect. My run yesterday was downhill...proper downhill at times too, it’s so hard because you have the brakes on all the time ..not good for the knees i suspect? I don’t like uphill either though!!! Well done on your long run in January!!

Thank you mummycav, I loved the structure of c25k, but in general I'm rubbish at routines. I Know where I want to get and that's hopefully 🤞 10k in about 60mins or less. I'll maybe implement some of ju-ju's magic plan but my main aim is to keep that improved fitness and stamina without letting my running mojo run off without me hopefully I'll try and avoid too many downhills,

Happy running and good luck with your red January

Thanks,

I'm even starting to see the attraction of hills 🏃.

I used to laze my days away before starting my nightshifts but that was in the past.

And strangely I miss my running days.
