Got myself really psyched up for today’s run only to turn back as too many icy patches on pavements...not prepared to take the risk 🙄......oh well, Parkrun it is on Saturday then! 😊

Ah Ted , I feel your pain and totally agree !
I couldnt run last weekend due to the snow . The only chance I had to go out this week so far and the paths were really icy . Now I have gone down with a sore throat and chesty cold.

No running on ice.. very bad.. slippage and breakage! I was hoping for a run at the Coast tomorrow... currently sleet and heavy rain now I am here!! Yuksters!

I had a similar abortive run attempt on Tuesday. In the end it’s not worth the risk of injury. Very wise to give up. Good luck with park run.
I vented my frustration with the ice by doing a Joe Wicks HIIT 20 minute workout indoors - follow along with him on YouTube. It's just as tough as a run, if not tougher. Make sure you warm up and stretch afterwards properly - his videos of that are a big flaky.
