Does anyone else suffer the "winter blues" as soon as I can't run before 0700 hrs (because of darkness) I tend to "drop off". MEMO TO. wife and self. Must run for at least 15 mins every day next year.

I definitely notice a drop in my mood as the days shorten. Running has helped but I have shifted my runs to occur later in the morning so I can still run in daylight. That seems to give me the best mental boost. I'm fortunate that I run on my days off of work so it isn't hard to shift them a little later.

I notice mood drop in winter, and not running as much as I should be I tend to feel grumpy. A lack of VitD from the sun at this time of year doesn't help, so I take a VitD supplement from Oct-March, have tried a tabletop SAD lamp but for me doesn't work..

We also had a SAD light, not sure if it made a difference either but given what we're going through now, maybe it did help and we just didn't realize it.

I have friends that do and it's hard. You can get light lamps etc... I also have a growing theory about sunrise. There is a huge amount of restorative power in being out at sunrise, the energy is in the air and in the light at that time. Could you try to go out just before and then be there for when the sun comes up?

Maybe the goal could be to get outside for at least 15 minutes every day? (Or say, 5 days out of 7 in a week... otherwise the moment you drop one, in a SAD state you may feel you've failed)
