Unfortunately I don't mean the like of mo Farrah or any other a lister you can think of, but those heavenly bodies that shine down in the dark.
Usually at this time of year my wombling or as others want to call it jogging (lol) tails off as the nights get darker and colder. having tried to get up for an early morning run on numerous occasions and failing miserably i have resorted to the domain of the late night running brigade.
Last night was no exception, it as dark, it was late (8:30 ish) and i wasn't motivated for a run the house was nice and cosy. however now trying to reach a 10k goal i needed to get my arse into gear and get out the door.
suitably kitted up i ventured out, cold and drizzly but still i had to clock up some miles. warm up completed i started my jog, don't know why but found the going tough even though i have slowed my pace right down, my gps buzzed 1k, 2k, 3k, 4k as i passed each milestone but the wall was fast approaching and i thought either i couldn't make the 5k mark or as i wanted to get beyond it.
it was at this point the clouds parted and the wonder of the sky presented itself to me. Orion the great hunter, cassiopea the vain greek queen of myth, the great bear, all to name a few and the gorgeous full moon.
suitably inspired and with great heavenly company i ploughed on through the 5k and nearly made it to 6, it isn't a great distance it certainly wasn't a pb, but as i am learning through each "womble" it isn't about that, it is about getting out no matter what, rain, sun, wind or freezing cold, it is about getting out and filling those lungs with fresh air and seeing the wonders this world has to throw at you
namaste ... and keep wombling
