Have you been doing lots of consolidation runs since you graduated, 10 days ago..?
Maybe at this point, a few more runs at 30 minutes, different routes too; then try some different runs... shorter and a bit longer, see where you get to runs.... try some intervals maybe too.. or the C25K+ podcasts... they are challenging and lots of fun !
It is very common for people here who have recently graduated from C25k to struggle with B210K. Nobody seems to know why - and I can only think that perhaps a little overconfidence in the ability to run non-stop for 30 minutes results in running too fast for the 10 minute running intervals of B210K?? Surely if somebody can run for 30 minutes non-stop at a certain pace can run for 4 x10 minutes at the same pace with a minutes rest inbetween???
I think if you haven't consolidated the 30 min runs that 40 mins is pushing it a bit even with the run breaks. Oldfloss has some good advice there or step back a week. Have you looked at the pinned posts and Juju's programme.
I consolidated 30 mins for sometime. Then i moved to b2 10k. However i only did one of these runs a week. In other words I concentrated on building stamina, slow and steady. After about six weeks of b2 10k i decided that one run a week I would extend a little whenever it felt right to do so. I graduated in Sept 16 and run my first full 10k in Feb 2017.
Thank you peeps, I guess not many people take this route, today I tried the interval NHS with Laura, felt hard but achievable which is what I'm after! So I will spend a few weeks consolidating with that one and the stamina one before trying the zenlabs one again. I did see the JuJu thing but that def looked above my fitness level, maybe try that next time it starts.
I used the zen labs 10k app after a few weeks of 5k consolidation runs, worked for me to get up to 10K. I use the speed podcast as one of my weekly runs at the mo too. You just need to do what suits you. Good luck 😊
