Over the past several months , I have increased my daily exercise regime to 7 days per week - I manage to mostly do it but I do miss the occasional days when life gets in the way. Mostly, I have been going to the gym, riding a mountain bike , walking parkrun and lately have been experimenting with walking with poles. Most of my exercising days are of one hour duration - on those days where I am feeling a bit tired or not quite able to cope with another day at the gym - I go for a 30 minute bike ride (and it is quite hilly around where I live). I am quite certain that I have lost body fat ( believe it or not, I even have the outline of some Abs appearing - at age 71!!! - ) but my weight has gone up a few KG . I am starting to realise that when I can/do return to running , I am going to have to do less running than previously as I am enjoying these other activities - but I do want to run again. I received an email yesterday to offer me a free entry into a running festival in early April next year as I won my age group for the half marathon last year ( hee-hee- I was the only entrant!!). So I signed up for the 10K - even then I may need to borrow somebodies wheelchair for it!!
