,8 days after and both my big toes are still painfull .) Walking to the fitness centre in my old trainers with the front cut off was a bit embarrassing but at least the cuts and bruises on my legs are now fading.

Hi Mike. You can expect to be a bit battered 😁. I take a daily omega 3 fish oil capsule to help my arthritic big toe. Hurts like stink if I forget to take it

I have both big toe nails coming off at the moment. It’s a game innit 🙄

Epsom salts in a hot bath is good and it deals with the cuts and bruises as well as the aches. 👍🏃‍♂️

Hey MW! I have a very loose big toe nail too, it's just joined on one side, and there is a lot of new growth underneath the loose bit. This has never happened to me before - should I do anything about it? See a doc? Pull it off? Or just leave it till it drops off on it's own?

P.S. I'm a bit squeamish about nails...

I read that some people have different size shoes for different length races!! Half size bigger for longer distance. I have gone up half a size and it’s worked for me

Oh dear, sounds uncomfortable! I have two black big toes as well but from hill walking (foot slipping inside my boots going downhill!). They are taking ages to heal. Hope your feet are ok soon. Great photo 😀👍

It can take a year for them to give up the ghost completely

I do nothing apart from put a plaster on to run but only when the nail lift has reached a point where it could get snagged. I use own brand co-operative plasters. They are very nice and flat but stay put I don’t tug or anything

I'm allergic to plasters so none of those for me. I'm seeing the nurse at my doc's surgery tomorrow for something else, so I'll show it to her and see what she says.

You’ll be fine. Plasters only to stop em snagging on bed clothes and run socks

Allergic to ALL plasters? I used to market test plasters and i bet there will be plasters out there for you We used to go swimming at the local baths at lunch break with our arms bearing lined up plasters for testing in water 💦

We all had to endure a spell in that dept. Essential for character-building 🙄

Happy days 😁

My toe nail came off in one tonight! It looks raw underneath Doesn’t hurt though. Stuck a plaster on it and hoping it’ll be ok 🙄
