Good video - because I haven't been able to run, I joined a gym a few months ago. I have never been a gym freak (like i never used to be a runner) so I have made it my goal to develop a "habit" of going to the gym most days. Some days I am not much in the mood and some days I am short on energy, but I get dressed, into the car and walk into the gym. Once there, I start out doing "something" which leads to something else - and before I know it an hour has passed. Even starting to get to know some of the regulars a little. They know my age and are very supportive - like my parkrun buddies are. I am going to redo C25k in the New Year and once i get back to being able to run parkrun non-stop again, I am planning on cutting back my running a little to social runs on Sat and Sunday (parkrun and club) , 3 days per week at the gym and two days of running/cycling. I think my 10K and HM days may be over. You can see this adds up to 7 days per week- I have been mostly doing "something" 7 days per week - with the odd day off when life gets in the way. But so far, I feel that I have become used to it - it has become a habit
Bazza - you are an inspiration! Well done for working hard to make exercise a habit, part of a daily routine...not always easy and sometimes, as you say, you don't always feel like doing but how brilliant that you do 'something' everyday
I have always struggled with doing 'core' exercises but now beginning to get into a habit of doing some every day and beginning to see a little improvement so a HUGE thank you to Realfoodieclub
The best "fallback" for me on my "don't want to" days is my new mountain style bicycle. If I really don't want to do much, I go out on my bike. Everywhere is downhill from my house - but of course you know what that eventually means !! - but by that time I have woken up and warmed up !! A 9K round trip takes me around 45 minutes and I am quite weary and puffed when I get home.
