My fibre of choice is merino wool: cool in heat, warm in cold, warm even when soggy, takes ages to get stinky. So for winter runs, usually leggings, fellraisers and headtorch if I'm going across the fields, icebreaker merino vest (buy if they're on sale to avoid eye watering expenditure), Rab MeCo long sleeve, buff, hideous neon singlet thingy with reflective strips so drivers can see me. If it's a long run I'd stick a lightweight waterproof and gloves in my camelbak just in case.

Layers, head torch and most importantly get a BUFF

what's a BUFF? In Canada I don't know if we have those :)

amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&key...

You can basically wear it how you want - as a hat, a balaclava, a snood....you have got to get one!

You must be able to get them in Canada as I was introduced to buffs through skiwear.....buff is the brand name.

Yep I see them on amazon.ca now. I've just been wearing my hoodie with a toque - this adds another element

And they say running is cheap....any excuse for more gear! Have fun chasing a design.

I LOVE them (Buffs) !!

Another vote for a buff, if not a hat and lightweight gloves, also I got fleece lined running tights...

Layers, thin wind proof gloves & hat and a summer buff. Running trousers, 2Tshirts, thin fleece, Merino tights/long sleeve top (Lidle/Aldi do cheep ones) 2 pairs socks. Thinulate gloves and thin beany. Its always easier to remove items when you get hot than freeze your bits off at the start and end of the run. Add layers as it gets colder and tie your fleece around your waist as you warm up,you can add it all back on as you do your cool down walk.

I have an Aldi merino £15.99. They had them in last week! Dark blue with a light blue trim.

Aldi hooded lightweight run jacket

Aldi cap. Other brands are available 🙂

Buff I wear the Buff under the cap so my ears get filly covered

If your head and ears are warm then that’s the main thing

Gloves, but I hardly ever wear them

Winter Weight run tights. They have reflective bits all, over them

Head torch, in my case a Lenser Neon

Flashy lights, cheapo

i have reflective Saucony run shoes

i have some of those ice chains for my trainers. Yak trax type but a cheaper one from bettaware

I don't like buffs. Maybe that's because the ones I've had are all made of cotton. They soaked up moisture and got clammy and cold very quickly. I now much prefer a hat made of synthetic materials that will wick the moisture away.

Not keen, I don't bother with buffs, just use running jacket and cap if nessacary or long sleeve tshirt with compression top underneath, possibly pair of gloves, running tights/trousers...
