After completing C25K for the second time, a month of running 5k three times a week or every second day, with recently bought new running shoes I am now attempting to run up to 10k. And the plan really does work!! πββοΈπ Today is a rest day, but i was so pleased with myself on Sunday in managing to run an unbelievable 8k, I thought i should share.

Excellent run and time for you Sonia, there I was saying that I hope to run 8K this Wednesday, I hope to run it in hour, wow you managed 8K in 52 minutes, if that was a 10K it would be just over an hour, once again congratulations.
Thank you!! It was weird that i found the two runs of 4k and 5k before pretty tough going, just not good runs mentally. But i started this one off nice and easy with lots of little steps with my feet not too high off the ground, with more into a running style later and it worked!! Also the adrenaline rush of reaching so far... My 5k now seems to average out at 32-33 minutes now. The shoes were a risk. I had Brooks before and ordered these Asics in an Easter sale only knowing I am a neutral comfort runner and chose half a size bigger than normal. But they are much better for long distance and I am really feeling the difference π
Thats just fantastic, well done you
Isn't it just amazing when you start getting to run the longer distances. It really is a great feeling. ππ
Brilliant effort, it's a great plan, as you say it does work. 10k will be under those lovely new trainers very soon. Happy running π€
Well done, Iβm so glad to hear about your experience as Iβm on week 3, after the C25k plus consolidation and my 5k run yesterday was awful. Iβm having a good rest day today, especially as itβs raining! then 7k here we come, I hope I manage to be somewhere near as successful as you.
I think we all have good and bad running days, this heat didnβt help. At least when the rain stops it will be cooler. Just a 4k run today. I must not try and push myself too much on the shorter runs, i think that is also half the problem. As for the 7k I am sure you will kill it. And the rush for achieving it afterwards... You can do it.
Congratulations SoniaπThatβs a brilliant run and time! Your well on your way to your 10k without a doubt!πββοΈπββοΈππΊπΈπΌπ€
I love the downhills as it gives me time to get ready for the blinking up hills where I liveπ€£π€£
