Following the leader

Not something I could do today as I *was* the leader.

Just over 5k up one side of the river with some Canicross people, a quick stop at the water trough, then back down the other side of the river.

It was a gorgeous morning with a helpful cooling breeze, and the tide was out so we had our pick of the paths. We all opted to run as much by the river itself as possible, to avoid stiles and gates.

We also voted to take walk breaks rather than coming to complete stops - with the exception of the drink stop for the dogs - which I am much more comfortable with.

Myself and one of the other runners opted to shorten our run a bit, on the way back, by taking one of paths across the fields on the way back instead of running the bends by the river as our dogs were starting to flag, so we didn't do a full 10K but we did do more than 9K πŸ˜€.

I know there were only 5 of us, but it wasn't as stressful as I thought it would be, and I'm seriously wondering whether a run leader course should be on my list of Things To Do in 2018.

I have been toying with the idea for a while... think next year might be the year πŸ‘

So much nicer than when I ran the same route on Thursday - the weather was grey and the tide was right in, so much of the lower path was obliterated.
