Continuing my build up to GSR with 3 runs per week, personal training session, doing PT's workout by myself, swimming etc. This week's 3 runs were a 10k, a hill sprint, and a 6.5k (in lieu of the parkrun I wasn't able to do this week).
I realised this is all getting a bit intense when I found myself picking up a copy of Runners World alongside my weekly shop. And then read it cover to cover including reviews of 22 new shoe models.
Still working on Bridge to 10k and have got to week 5 - two running sessions with one walking break. I went out yesterday for two 22 minute runs - the first part was uphill and I can see that my speed was gradually reducing the further up the hill I went! Once on the flat I settled out, turned round at the halfway point and enjoyed the downhill section....just over 6k covered at a pace of 7'23" (fastest yet for me!). Next run tomorrow but maybe just a short one as it will be after work. Building up to running for one hour non-stop next week!
Feeling a bit lost today as it should be a running day. But I am sticking to the advice and having done parkrun last Saturday then just 3km on Monday I am resting ready for the 10K on Saturday. The weather forecast is 'orrible, by the way! Rain and heavy rain.
So I have been baking today - 30 cakes, some coconut and some orange. I will freeze most of them alongside with some of our blueberry and blackberry mountain currently residing in the freezer - and a neighbour has promised apples from her tree any day now, so I will need to find room for them as well. Then when we want a quick pudding we can microwave the cake and fruit to eat with custard or yogurt.
