Easy with strides...

That's what MapMyFitness calls it - 22 minute run, 6x (30s REALLY FAST, 2 minute recovery), 10 minute run.

Having missed my opportunity to get out early this morning (I forgot a repair man was coming!) I thought today was going to be a wasted day. Then late his afternoon, it went overcast and started to look like it was going to rain so I headed out. I needed to fetch the grandsprocket after, so I drove to the airport and then ran up the river. Of course the sun then came out and I got really hot! Hey ho. There was a kayaker on the river, heading in the same direction as me when I started out, so I spent some of my time playing 'catch up' with them, until I realised that I was then running faster than the app wanted me too, so I wouldn't have enough energy to do the intervals by the time they came up, at which point I switched to counting my steps.

Despite the speedy start, I managed all six of my fast runs, which is rare for me as I normally flake out on the last one. Maybe this training lark is paying off 👍

Thanks 🙂

Love it. You saw the raincloud and resolved to run before it started raining, rather than resolving to writing the day off. Glad you're feeling the benefits, getting well into your stride :)

😀 I would have quite liked to have been rained on by the time I'd finished 😀

Bwahahaha! I got trodden on by a friend's horse yesterday so have a bruised foot (under my ankle bone, but above the sole, on the outside). Spent last night icing it, and managed to run for an hour on it this morning.

Oh no! Sounds painful are you sure you should be running on it?

I wasn't sure, but it doesn't seem to have made anything worse. I have a tiny run planned for Friday evening - a Canicross friend has had oral surgery so isn't allowed to run, so I'm going to walk down and see if her rescue collies will run for me (as Bella can't do much still). It will literally be a run round a football field job. And then, hopefully, a 6k Canicross run with Taylor Beagle on Sunday morning.

I don't about spot on, but I think it's getting better now I have a Garmin. It's a really basic one, but that's all I need👍
