Well I have my first ever race 10k tomorrow and I'm terrified for some reason. I have done three 10k runs in the past few weeks and managed fine but the thought of other people etc is really really bothering me 😢 stomach is going at the thought! And the fact family know and my little one will be there... Oh dearie... what have I done...

We can base so much of what we think about ourselves on what we think other people are thinking about us...

Tomorrow you will be just one more vague face in a crowd to most.

Your family will perceive you through their own environmental lens as they usually do so you know how that will go for better or worse.

Your little one is little so you are still on that pedestal - no worries there, right?

As to all the rest - it could be the biggest most traumatic experience of your entire life but I bet you everything I own it will be rather uneventful except for the kick you will get out of running :)

BTW - remember the name of that lady who stopped during the Marathon and peed in public before running on?

Me niether ;)

Now, just remember to breathe and go out there and enjoy your run :)

Oh I was so so nervous before my first race! A couple minutes into the run I just felt like I usually do when out running. We were all doing the same thing, just doing it as a group for a change :) Don't start of too fast and you will be fine! Enjoy!

I always get really nervous before a race but the buzz on the day makes it all worth while! You will love it! (The adrenalin usually means we run quite well, too). You know you can do the distance which is good - just make sure you go off at a steady pace as it's so easy to go off too quick and then regret it! Hope things go really well for you - pics of bling are always appreciated on here too! Good luck!☺

It is natural to be nervous of the unknown. If you haven't run an event before it will be expected. I felt the same for my first event only I didn't know if I could even finish as I had been in bed only days before with a horrible cold/flu virus. You know you can complete the distance as you have done it before. Get to the loos in time as there is usually a queue, one event it was so bad there was even a queue for the bushes lol. When you start go off easy and run with others. If they run a bit slower than your pace then move on up. If you find a group running your pace use them to follow and keep pace. Work out where your family will be and look forward to seeing them wave you on, they are such a boost to your momentum. Above all else smile for the camera and enjoy the atmosphere, it will be fun.

Remind yourself this is supposed to be fun! Honestly, it works for me. You've done the distance, you're capable, you'll have a ball and as soon as you cross that finish line you'll want to do it again. The crowd will thin out after you start but just think of them as all of us lot running with you 🏃🏃🏃

Everyone else I bet will be just as nervous. Your family and your little one will be in awe of you and also very very proud I'm sure.

I'm always nervous at the the thought of the race, just wanting it to start! Wishing it was over! Constant feeling of wanting to go to the loo! We've all been there and you know once the race kicks off those feelings disappear and you just run,run run!

So don't be nervous! Be excited, brave, happy and go out there and give them hell !! ha! And most of all Embrace and Enjoy the whole experience!

Good luck and happy running!👍😀😀
