Trippy run (in a good way)

Plucked up the courage to join my local running club for some taster sessions. First week was a 5 mile run on a very hot and humid evening. Got to the meeting place and sat in my car. Looked at scary group of 'proper runners' and bottled it. Thought of all you lot and your inspirational posts. Well the next thing I know I'm out of that car and doing warm up laps with the rest of them. Finished run, totally exhausted, hot, sweaty and happy with the biggest smile on my face.

Yesterday did my second evening session (intervals) with them. Pushed myself a lot harder than I would do on my solo runs. Finished with a slow cool down run and found that I was really buzzing. Proper runners high, they do exist !

So, to all you lovely people out there who have had that 'sitting in your car' moment. Think of this forum, seize the moment, get out there and just RUN!

Big well done! I have not been that brave yet, I'm afraid BUT maybe, once I am fully back from injury...we have a couple of clubs nearby that I have looked into. Taster sessions are a good idea. Really glad it has given your running a boost?🙂

Yup get our big girl pants on and go for it. Clubs are handy come winter when it's dark out. Safety in numbers 🙂 Also, its sociable and the runs go quicker 🏃‍♀️

I haven't been that brave yet either. But I've had a look at a few websites. Things like "On Tuesdays we trot along for about an hour at an easy pace of 6 mins / km" scare the wits out of me. I can't get close to that if I'm running flat out (not over 5k anyway). Plus my pony tail doesn't swish and I would probably be older than most of their mothers. I need a group of geriatric runners!
