Hi I havent been here for ages! Looks like everyone is doing great
Just wondering about rests I recently ran my very first 10 klms around home . Been really tired so only ran once this week, does it take a couple of days when you first start doing 10 klm long runs?

Like any distance, when you first do it, recovery will take longer, so listen to your body and take as long a rest as you need. Make the next run relatively light on demand, so no fast or long run straight after.
I don't run to compete, so for me a 10-12k run is my weekly treat and I often try to engineer a couple of rest days both before and afterwards. I can remember the times when after coming back from a Saturday morning 10k , I was totally useless for the rest of the day, whereas now I carry on as normal and am quite happy to go for a walk in the afternoon of a similar distance.
Thanks I only run for myself , I try for three times a week then maybe long run on Sunday, I have been trying to listen to my body but I have a lazy gene that kicks in a lot so I needed some feedback to make sure I do it right!
