Couch potato now 3 months into running!!!

I'm a self confessed 46 year old exercisephobe, always have been even at school. Earlier this year I made a bet with a friend in the UK (I emigrated to new zealand 14 yrs ago) that I would run a park run with him when I return to the UK for a visit at Xmas. So I started couch to 5km three months ago, and am now running for 30 mins x 3 per week. Still finding it difficult but sticking at it. Am currently running 3.2km in 30 mins but would like to get to 5km and maybe beyond! Hoping to get some tips on how to achieve this! :)

Just keep plugging away. Slow, but sure, building up your fitness as you progress gradually

As misswobble said, there really aren't any shortcuts, all you can do is plod along, add a bit of extra distance every now and then, building the longest run of your week gradually up to be longer and longer until, one day, you hit your target.

Good luck, and happy running :)
