Rest day or not?

Iv'e completed a 13 mile charity walk today in 4.5 hours and am feeling a bit weary. Tomorrow should be a running day. Should I be sensible and leave running for another day?

You answered your own question...feeling weary. By kind to yourself and take a rest day 👍🏼

I would take a rest day and do lots of stretching today.

I never run after a big hike day, I always feel like I need a swim or a good stretch. But I do tend to be kind to myself and have a rest day.

I often feel like a *gentle* run to loosen up if I've been doing much walking. If there's any kind of speed in the walk I find it much more uncomfortable than running (I did some longer and brisker walking yesterday and boy do I hurt today) It sounds as though you don't feel like that. Running is supposed to be something we do for ourselves after all! But you'll probably recover better if you do move about a bit.

A gentle and short recovery run might be good if muscles are aching, but nothing long and hard.......maybe I should rephrase that......take it easy.
