Hi everybody,

Please feel free to share your runs here and chat about how it's all going,

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy week,

Juju, RFC and Pops

Apologies to those who read C25K as well. I just posted this on the wrong forum!

well, it has taken me a long time to get there, but this morning I finally ran my five miles!

Almost by accident as I set off to Polyrunner 164 (I hadn't even finished the full 60 minutes of 162 yet). After about 8 minutes I decided that I wouldn't be able to keep it up for the 40-50 minutes I planned to run, so I switched to Poly

runner 162 and off I set. I was going well so thought I would try for the 50 minutes in addition to the 8 already done. Then I was coming up to 7km and feeling good so I thought "go for it, get this done then I can go back to just running without targets again"

So I did. 8.35 km in 68 minutes and 3 seconds (which included faffing about time when I changed the polyrunner).

Thanks Ju 🙂

Next up is a local 10k race which is held on a Thursday evening, which makes a change

The locals put on a real good show and it's a real community event. It's hard as there are a couple of long drags in it and a steep climb but I'm looking forward to it. It's in a few weeks time

Well, having had a bit of a lapse in my running - only one or two runs a week in May, also a 10 day break in the middle - as life got in the way, I was horrified how my speed fell off (not that I'm the fastest by any means but I had got Parkrun down to 33m 17s). I've now managed to fit in more runs (aiming for 3 a week) and it's paying off - my fastest 5k this morning since April and I've also managed to up my distance to 7k. So getting there slowly.

Hi Juju! Got whacked by a ginormous cold just days after my HM and still haven't been out for a run yet. In the mean time I'm thinking about what do do next in terms of training to improve my endurance on hills.
