First visit to Alice Holt parkrun today and what a nice place to run. There are a few hills to make your way up which made to run a bit of a challenge but for me made it very enjoyable. When we got there we bumped into another half a dozen Havant runners who also made the trip, nice group photo and a chat. A little bit of banter with the new runners brief making it a very enjoyable morning. It will be a lace to revisit again. I've also noticed on Garmin Connect that Henpen was there today, shame I missed her as it would have been nice to put a face to one of HU members, maybe next time I'm up there! Have a great weekend all! ๐
A bit of tourism!: First visit to Alice Holt... - Bridge to 10K
A bit of tourism!
Hi Frank, Alice Holt is not too far from me! I have walked there but never run there...maybe once I am back off the injury couch! Glad you enjoyed it.๐
It is a lovely place. Are you still having problems? Hope things get better soon for you. ๐
Yep, but all going in the right direction, Frank - just slower than I would wish! The sciatica I had caused 'peripheral nerve damage' ๐ฎ in my lower leg and foot! My physio says this IS temporary and I am doing well for a disc injury! My foot still feels a bit weak but every day a tiny bit better, and my back is also a lot better. Out yesterday exploring potential new running routes whilst on a leisurely stroll!('You can take the girl away from running but never take the runner out of the girl' sort of thing! ). I am focusing on strengthening my back and core, which can only help when I get back to the running.๐
Well done frank. sounded good fun. We are planning a southsea awayday for parkrun somewhen in the summer. Will let you know. Will be good to see you.
All these places sound really exotic to us Staffs Moorlands folk! Sorry.. we have now been upgraded to The Staffordshire Peak District!!! ( rates to match )
Sounds like a super friendly run Frank...great to meet up with folk too...I wish there were folk like you and the others on the forum nearer to me, maybe then I would not be quite so much of a loner
Well done you!
Thanks Floss, I'm sure the new Staffs Peaks are lovely with plenty of trails to explore! Do you use parkrun at all Floss? I was a lone runner for a long time until I went to parkrun, I've found everyone so friendly and supportive and meet them most Saturdays, like busby says, it's good to talk!!! Argh....... there's me again showing my age! There's nothing I would like more than a bunch of HU members to meet up at an event in the future, how lovely that would be! Have a lovely week Floss and enjoy the things you do! ๐
There are and we are close-ish to the Peak District.. I am hoping Anniemurph and I may get together on a trail there at some point.
Park run...no,.. I just have not gone for it.. then one that I would do has over 350 folk doing it and I am not keen on lots of people in a small area... excuses I know, because I am gregarious
We are hoping, some folk on here, that next year Realfoodieclub might be able to organise something for the London Mile;she mentioned it ages ago in a post...wouldn't that be something!!!
You have a great week too x
