I've just signed up for a 10k at the beginning of September. I've found the race for Life 10k training plan and giving it a go....I have to lift my slow 5k to a slow 10k. I think I must be daft.....!!

Not at all! 10k is a great distance and you have plenty of time to increase distance. Good luck!🙂

I gave myself about 3-4 months to train from 5k to 10k. With ju-ju's plan I did my first 10k after about 4 weeks from 7k. I have done several 6 mile runs in training now from 61 minutes to 65 minutes. You have plenty of time so enjoy it. I also signed up for a 10k to give me the incentive and now that event is upon me. Try not to obsess about the plan and following it religiously. Give yourself some space for life events that will come up. Goodness knows how my 10k will go after this week of cold virus! I have to say the nerves have kicked in, eek!

My lovely daughter signed me up for a 10k in August as a birthday present. I'm doing the Same Murphy podcasts and am currently up to 6.6k - not great, but there's a while to go yet. As Hidden says, life events can intrude as well. Good luck with your runs!

Yay, Sami! I shall be taking her out with me next run. I gave her up for a running app that seems doomed not to work. Sami never let me down 😃

How do you download Sami? I've tried to find it but can't find a link to download it?

You will be fine :) I tend to look at the results from last year, if they are available, just so I know what I am letting myself in for, but you have time to train. Go for it!
