The scheduled weekly run with the girls was cancelled at short notice so a hasty Plan B was put into action. My daughter and I planned our own run - a reverse of our normal 5k Monday. Forgot that we would usually put in a bit of extra mileage running ahead of, and then back to the back-marker, running approximately 40 minutes, and then a 5 minuted run back home. On top of that, just past 3 km I got a really bad stitch round the front of my ribcage on the right side, which eased slightly with deep breaths but then came back with a vengeance round the side and back of my ribs. Weird place - never had a stitch there before - it was very painful and I was forced to slow right down. By 4km it had eased, and by 4.5km it had gone. Once back, we'd only run for 34 minutes, 5.25 km in total.
I feel stupidly disappointed for not realising that I needed to run another 15 minutes to be 'on-plan' for Week 3 (although it does seem a bit of a steep step up from W2). My daughter says I'm being ridiculous. She's probably right. I still feel disappointed.
Next run Wednesday. I may do W2 again.
