Urban trail runner!

Having spent most of my winter, running on tarmac, decided to again face the mud this morning. It was a little dark, so I started on the local playing field with my trusty headtorch guiding my steps. Managed to stay on my feet, sloshing through the mud and avoiding the ups and downs of the grassy track. As the light increased, I made for the local football field which gave me a big open space, some woodland and hills to explore. It was a lot of fun and I can only describe my style as plodding. Much slower than usual at around 8 minutes per km and it was a struggle and a half. I remember from before, trail running gave me a thorough workout of my legs. I feel good and no injuries but my muscles are sore! Nothing a rest won't sort out! Totals so far are 7 + 6 + 5 (18 km) and still a Saturday run to go!

Well done :) I am sore today too (see my hills post!) Lets hope a day's rest sorts us both out!

Well, I have committed to four runs a week so my idea of rest on Saturday will be running in the evening, it is the best I can do - I am a little obsessed and inflexible. Hope your soreness goes away!
