Found it hard going this morning :/

After my 10K on Monday I got up and went out this morning like usual. It was really hard going though and I can't blame it all on the hills I don't think. I only ran just over 6K and had to stop because I ran out of time really. I just wasn't feeling it when I got up tbh, maybe I shouldn't have gone but tomorrow's weather doesn't look brilliant so I made myself go. I don't think it was my legs or anything as even after Monday they don't really ache. Oh well, maybe it'll be OK next time and 6K is still a good run isn't it...

Every run is worth doing, and 6K is pretty damn brilliant I would say. Far better than doing nothing, so don't beat yourself up about it. :-)

I had a rubbish run after my first 10k but I also had a short amount of time, it was frosty and I just wasn't feeling it. Maybe the lack of time and the fact we did so well with 10k that we just had too much pressure on ourselves to enjoy it. The next run will be better.

Why were you disappointed with a 6k run when you ran a fab 10k on Monday and only graduated in December (is that right ?) How far had you planned to go? My weekly pattern when I first bridged to 10k, was 2 x 5ks and a 10k at the weekend. Even now training for a half marathon, I still do 2 shorter runs during the week and my long one at the weekend. If you try and do too many consecutive long runs you could well and up injured. As you say, 6k is still a very decent run and you have done brilliantly! Be kinder to yourself!☺

I agree :)

It took me a long time to build up to 10K...though I was in no hurry really. For me the 7K was my stumbling block.. but again, not really a rush.

I just still stick to a short, a long and a longer run...a bit like you :)

We are hard on ourselves sometimes :)

I know, you're all right of course. I guess I was more disappointed that I wasn't quite feeling as good while running as I did on Monday. I've been so tired this week and doing the early morning run seemed more of a drudge than usual. Pity party over ;)

It is, a very good run... some days..it works, some not completely. But.. you are a runner and you did it.. well done :)

Don't forget, when we were in C25k 6k was a fabulous run. When we were still on the couch it was unimaginable, so be pleased with your 6k.😀👍🏽🏃🏽‍♀️

I cant do three long runs a week, i find that too tiring. Each week currently I do a 3k interval or speed etc. A 5k hilly, and a longer distance run, 8k this week. I also take a planned break of 4 or 5 days every month or so.

Just find what works for you and enjoy 🏃🏻‍♀️😀

Yes, it was probably too much to expect after the 10K really. I would usually do 2 7K runs on workdays and a longer run on my day off but this week the longer run was really long so that probably accounts for it :)

Some days it just is hard work. Don't let it discourage you :)

I haven't been out yet since my 10k run on monday so congrats on getting out there and fitting in a mid week run! I totally understand that tired feeling. Basically there can be no particular reason but just not all runs go well. I hope the next one makes up for it :)

Thanks for all your lovely words everyone, it really means a lot. It's been a crappy week at work so I'm just feeling a bit sorry for myself in general. You lot have made me feel so much better, <3 :)
