Before bed, get my running gear ready!

Will be driving about an hour (or more if traffic bad) in the morning to get to work. Ready to run though, gear all in a neat pile ready to go for an early dark run! Nice and slow tomorrow - made sure none of it is inside out to slow me down! What do you do to make sure you actually run?

I think what you've done is good. It removes one excuse. Maybe also put the alarm clock away from the bed so you HAVE TO get up to switch it off ;-)

You'll be fine. It will be great. I'm always impressed by people who gets up and rups before dawn. Takes a special kind of dedication.

You're probably back already! It's still dark out there as I'm typing this and I won't go out in the dark, partly because I don't actually need to but mostly because the pavements round here are so bad that I'm fairly sure I'd trip and fall splat!

I'm not too bad about going for a run if its in the plan :D - providing of course all the conditions are right: weather, I've eaten right, *ahem* regular daily health has happened, my horoscope is okay, the stars are in the right aspect... no, not really! I'm trying to get a bit tougher about making myself go even if the weather is bad because I am on my 10k Bupa plan at the moment, ramping up for the London Winter Run. I'm lucky though because I can usually choose my time for a run. Hope yours went well!

I just do it. No convo's with myself, just slavish obeyance 😄

I kick my own ass 😁

Great way of putting it... could be used in the next Nike campaign. You ought to copyright that :-)

I place my ipod, phone, specs, a pint of water, key on kitchen table the night before with trainers on the floor ready. I put my running kit in the bathroom so I can get changed without turning bedroom light on (.... to give Mrs Onda a less rude awakening). This little routine just saves me faffing about collecting stuff first thing. All the things I have listed (a part from trainers and kit!) I have actually forgotten at some or other in my short running career, which has spoilt that days run a little bit. So it's worth doing. On a practical level time is short in the morning as have to set off to work at 07:15 latest so this prep helps me get out in shortest possible time (but reading back seems a bit OCD...:-) )

On the whole, if I've planned a run (no strict routine just, 3 per week for foreseeable) I do it no matter what, unless I'm really under the weather or injured.... like miss wobble I refuse to talk to myself about it - I kick my own ass (love it! :-) )

I'm not too good at bounding out of bed pre-dawn for runs. It would help if I went to bed earlier so I'm going to try to do that more often.

But definitely getting the kit organized the night before helps.

It has occurred to me to go to bed wearing it... but I haven't yet!
