My running mojo has gone..: .. not sure where... - Bridge to 10K
My running mojo has gone..
Sorry to hear about your dog passing, it really is like losing one of the family. Our dog passed away a year ago and i found it incredibly tough. I still get a few tears now. The house was eerily quiet without her. I find it hard to run when under emotional stress and I can understand your lack of motivation to get out. Take a break and see how long before you are wanting to go out, then do it!
So sorry for your loss mrsparkles32. Losing a pet can be tough and these things affect us all in different ways. You will run again when it feels right and when you do, remember to run for the love of it - no goal, no distance or time pressure - just because you can. Be kind to yourself and your mojo will return. Take care.☺
So sorry to hear of the loss of a much loved dog.
When my last dog died my sister said to me "the greater the love, the greater the pain. But you would never miss out on the love, just to avoid the pain."
I know even years later I welled up with tears just missing him, so be kind to yourself.
Even without that grief I think it's maybe a wee bit normal to hit a low after a high - I would say "don't go looking or worrying about your mojo, it will come looking for you!"
Sorry for your loss xx
Take a break and the 'Call of the run' will return when it's ready!!!
Take care xx
So sorry to hear that. They definitely leave their paw prints behind in more ways than one!
Maybe try going just for a short gentle jog soon, to keep it going, but with no pressure, no expectations.
And *hugs* It absolutely sucks when our beloved pets die
So sorry to hear your dog passed away. take care of yourself, the running will still be there when you're ready xx
So sorry to hear of your loss , Mark . They are with us for a short time but leave everlasting memories xxx
Take a little step back for a while , you will know when you're ready to go out again xxx
Sounds to me like you need to push the "reset" button. Forget about running for a while - go take a nice long scenic walk. When you feel like it - have a short run - when you feel like running again, do so. Rinse and repeat - until you find that mojo again. It's probably under the couch.
Just go for a trot and run through the memories of your dog. A very sad time. Hope you get your mojo back soon, but I'm sure you will.
Sorry to hear that news
So sorry to hear about your loss. Pets are family members, and if you need a break then you need a break. All the best
Very sorry to hear that bad new, MrS. Only natural that a loss like this saps our energy and motivation... have faith, it will return... and you'll be back to putting in those astonishing times again. Best wishes.
Oh that's so hard, be kind to yourself and don't push. You'll know when the time is right xx
There's often a bit of an anti-climax after a peak running experience - might be physiological, and then the extra whammy of your dog dying... I don't think you need waste any effort on wondering where your mojo has gone.... nor in worrying that it won't be back when you are ready. Although don't underestimate the value of getting outside in nature in making grief a little more bearable. The 'thereness' of dogs makes their loss so very acute.
Google joins me in sending sympathies.
Sorry to hear that - just look after yourself, don't feel pressured to run. x
Thanks guys,it's tough, our cat isn't dealing at all well with it but we try to deal with it somehow. Want to try to get out later on after dinner and will test out my new toys - got a running light and smartwatch last week.
