Do any of you good people have advice on preparing for my 10K tomorrow morning. What should I be eating/drinking. Should I do any exercise today? Or just any other good advice/tips.
First 10K race tomorrow, any tips? - Bridge to 10K
First 10K race tomorrow, any tips?
I wouldn't run today - go for a walk instead. As far as food goes, I try to eat something along the lines of pasta or rice the night before, avoid the alcohol and get a good night's kip. Breakfast: whatever you eat on a normal running day!
Before you go to bed, apply the BBD method - Bag By Door, clothes ready, any connected stuff charged and in the bag (Garmin, headphones, iPod..). In your bag, make sure you have safety pins in case they don't have any - it happens, and it's difficult to run with your bib stuck down your knickers. Don't forget a bottle of water and a banana/some dried fruit (in case you come in when all the other runners have hoovered up the refreshments). Have fun!
Good job on getting prepped for you race timbradley , just stay hydrated, but don't overdo the water before the race. The only other advice is don't go off to quickly better to start off a bit slower and then feel that you have it in your legs to pick the pace up, than blowing up inside the first couple of ks. Good luck.
Have never raced 10k, so no good advice from me, but lots of good luck
No changes before race day. Stick with your usual breakfast so you know you can tolerate it and run. And have fun.
I can't remember what I ate on the morning of my 10K, but here is a site that has some good tips: runnersworld.co.uk/health/n...
I did a micro-run of about 15 mins the day before, plus some stretching. I did a few yoga stretches on the morning of the run as soon as I got up. Otherwise, I was ready to go!
