Hello y'all. We arrived in Majorca yesterday for two weeks hols which will hopefully include my first ever 10k event on 16 October. It was cool and cloudy yesterday but boiling today. I went for a run this morning which was meant to be my second last B210k run, i.e. one hour's run. I only managed 45 minutes though. It was such a shock to the system after Scottish autumn running. So I've been vaguely depressed about it since - until I got Wi-Fi and googled "tips for running in the heat", the main one being to allow your body time to acclimatise. I feel so much better. And I've also read most of a book already, since leaving home. The book is "Running Like a Girl", recommended by someone on this forum I believe!

At least you have a little time to adjust to the heat. Keep hydrated and slow up and I'm sure you'll be fine. I love 'Running Like a Girl' and have recommended it on here (as has Irish princess, I think?). Enjoy your holiday and race build up!☺Very exciting!

I went to Majorca in the Summer and it's so good. My best tips are to run v early in the morning and very very slowly having lots of stops, and I took Vaseline for my lips as they got dry in the heat... enjoy!!!

Best of luck with the race, you will be brilliant. I can't run in the heat at all, I agree Scottish Autumn running is lovely (well at the moment it isn't raining!).
