I have only run on Monday this week. An okay run just over 8k in 50 mins including some hills. Then missed running club on Wednesday after it took 2 and 1\2 hours to do a 26 mile journey. Going to do my first formal race with the club Sunday a 5 miler and a bit nervous.
I am still not covering the distances I think I should be by now and have signed for the Brighton hm and not even doing 10k regularly yet. Guess I need to step it up.

Think of this week as a rest week - we all need them sometimes. Next week will be better for it. Good luck with your race, your tine is pretty good you know xx
I don't think you do. Life got in the way for ONE WEEK! This is supposed to be enjoyable, not an extra pressure. There's nothing wrong with aspiring to improve (btw 8k in 50m is impressive!), and the marathon next year is in the back of your head of course, but chill out and go forward from today without stressing.
Can't be helped if things crop up, not as if your sitting on the couch all the time is it, fit runs in as you can, but a rest is good! 8k in that time including hills is excellent, stop knocking yourself! How did you get on with the 5miler? Did well no doubt!😊
