Almost off the injury couch...

....and going to try a run tomorrow, wish me luck!

I did test my leg out on a couple of hills yesterday (including Ill Bell, pictured)) and it was fine.

What are peoples thoughts on support stockings and stuff? Are they any good for recently healed ex-pulled muscles? Px

Can't help on the stockings I bought some compression socks but didn't like them but good luck with the run and that looks like a great place to go for a walk/run

Whilst I can't comment on support stocks, all I can say is take it easy and don't do too much.

I have some long compression socks and they are great, but unfortunately too warm for use at this time of year. They definitely seem to help with my dodgy Achilles.

Be interesting to hear replies on compression socks - I haven 't used them yet but as I increase my distance I might invest in a pair. Have also read that some folk use them to aid recovery after long runs too. Also, what a beautiful photo Pam, you are so lucky to be live near such amazing scenery. Good for the soul, scenery like that!😀

That is very true, I feel more refreshed after a day on the fells than a week on holiday (and I felt VERY fresh when the heavens opened on the last fell and it bucketed it down :o)

What a beautiful place you are in on that photo! Looks so wonderful though it must be a somewhat daunting terrain to run in. Take care.

Thanks lovelies, I think I'll get some stockings (of the Nora Batty variety!) and give them a go, I am still quite nervous on that leg.

I had the running equivalent of "your eyes are too big for your belly" this morning, I set out thinking I'd go steady and do 3k but whilst the mind was willing, the flesh was weak and I only managed 2k! Still, better than 0k :o)

ps the photo above was taken about an hour north of us in the lake district... and not in a million years would I be fit enough to run up a hill like that! It was taken 2 days ago and I'm still stiff :o(

My first socks were compression, but only because they were next to the trainers in Aldi (I had no idea what I needed, it was a case of buy these, get started)

I do like them but have been running in ankle socks most of the time. They did help when my leg was a bit tired, until I sorted out out the gel insoles so I bought a second pair.

I will start wearing them again now that the weather is getting colder.
