I have just gone and entered the Eastleigh 10k on March 20th !!
Nervous, unsure, really doubtful but just went and did it !!
Really pleased that I have made the decision (thanks for your help) but the hard work starts now.

Yay! Well done Richard! That's the day after my first 10k (Richmond). Scary but exciting! Good luck with your preparation😀.
You'll love it! I did my 1st 10k in November & I felt sick with nerves on the days before.
As soon as I arrived I got caught up in the atmosphere. The support was brilliant, from someone giving 'Free Power' high fives to someone banging a wok with a wooden spoon! I forgot I was actually running & before I knew it I was crossing the finish line.
If you've put the work in before hand, you've nothing to worry about. Just enjoy it & let us know how you get on, good luck!
You'll love it! The crowds and other runners are so supportive. I have done three 10km and a HM. I use a walk/run combination at the moment and finished last in two out of four of my races. I get very nervous before hand however I always enjoy the day!
Good luck
Happy running
Well done! Making the leap and entering your first race is a bit scary but it's done now. The training for 10k is not too strenuous or demanding so don't worry. It might be an idea to get busy with other exercise as well to make sure your body is primed and strong.
You will enjoy the training I'm sure. It's great to go out with a renewed sense of purpose with a definite goal in mind. It's fun though. I am training for a March 10k and have my first 3 runs ticked off. Hiking tomorrow. It's all good!
