In December next year -- right in the middle of your winter --- AND -- IT HAS NO CUTOFF TIME or limit on entrants.

Discovered this yesterday - and a flea has now entered my ear!! I thought about the possibility of a HM in my 69th year and a marathon in my 70th year -- but because we went overseas for two months earlier this year,it didn't appear that even the first part of that "thought bubble" would/could pan out -- however it now appears that the first part will have been achieved by the end of today !!

Bazza, It costs me about £70 on Ryanair to get to Berlin! Something tells me Honolulu might be a tad more expensive! I'll look into it though. It does sound appealing!

After my HM yesterday -- I've changed my mind!!!!! I was absolutely FINISHED when I crossed the line (In 2hours 36 using run/walk) 12 hours later, I am feeling OK , a little sore here and there and quite tired ( but can't sleep!!)

Just realised that I could simply stay on after my boy competes in the Ironman World championships in Kona next October. It would save on airfares so would be a thrifty gesture really.

Thank you all for your encouragement. I fear this may be one more idea which seemed great when the event was a year away, but whose attractiveness may diminish exponentially with time. Like my idea to have a tattoo to celebrate if I complete it.
